Today was a glorious day in the city, weather-wise.  It nearly reached 80 degrees and never gave into the rain the clouds were threatening.  Just as my day was winding up and I was thinking of what outside establishment might do the trick for welcoming the weekend, I received a last minute invitation to a charity event in Union Square for The Family Center, an organization that provides legal,  social and health management services to families in need in the New York area.  Not only was this a wonderful addition to my Thursday night, but it was great to learn about this organization that helps so many in need.

As a result, my New York night transpired into one of love and gratitude for all of my blessings, and the jammin’ DJ didn’t hurt either to help me burn the calories that I didn’t attend to today at the gym.

In the end it was, in the words of Billy Ocean, one of those nights when you feel like getting down, which is exactly what we did.

The other day I had a fun Ladies Night in London at the Radio Rooftop Bar at the ME Hotel with some friends.  As we were there just to enjoy each other’s company and catch up, we were quite content with ourselves. Well, we must have emitted über confidence because before we realized what was happening, we owned the bar.

We were a trio of foxy professional accomplished ladies and were looking good to boot – heeeeeeeeyyy – and soon found ourselves the belles of the ball and couldn’t shake the attention with a stick.  We were planted firmly at the bar while drinks from various menfolk found their way to us.

So, ladies, the next time you head out looking for male attention, don’t. Focus on you/your friends and enjoying yourselves and the men will find you.

I’d decided to try the cleanser to see if it would address my dry skin that had recently been exacerbated by the amount of air travel I’ve been doing.  I really needed something gentle, yet powerful, and I was very pleased to discover that after only a few days of use, the dry flakiness had all but disappeared.  This natural cleanser throughly cleansed my skin and added moisture, without leaving it dry and tight.

Taking advantage of the long weekend, I sought refuge from the bitter cold in New York and enjoyed four glorious days of sunshine and culinary delights at a resort in Runaway Bay.

One of my favorite meals was at the local hangout Scotchies, near Ocho Rios, where I indulged in smoked jerk chicken, and probably the most memorable night was making smores on the beach over a bonfire.

Lying on the beach for four days eating and drinking like the ship was going down, is a true indulgent experience that I am fortunate to have had.

A video was produced from the evening’s event (aptly titled: Love Bigger, Judge Less) featuring moms of Flawless children.  There’s are impassioned, inspiring, and moving anecdotes about their children and is worth more than one look.

I began the year by resolving to seeing the world a bit more than I was able to do in 2011.  Back in my heyday when I was Matt Damon’s assistant, I was on a plane to anywhere at any given time.  I knew I wouldn’t be able to match that—I mean, first class travel most everywhere? Supremely awesome—but I’d give it the ole’ Tall T try.  And by the grace of God I was able to have a great travel year and create wonderful memories.  I made it to Istanbul, Iceland, Texas, Quebec, China, Budapest, Miami and New England (always to my beloved New England), and will be sunnin’ my buns in Jamaica in two short weeks.  Heeeeeeeeeeeyyy!

Being featured in a Stonyfield Yogurt campaign for their Yo Toddler‘s banana pumpkin line was also a blessing.  (You never know where a modeling job will come from, especially as a no longer twenty-something  sistah, so those gigs are always welcomed.) Me holding my “son” with my ‘fro can move yogurt off the shelves as well as any other model! Heeeeeeeyyy!

And being the culinary delightress that I am, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention all the great meals that I took down in 2012.  I ate well on every one of my trips as well as at Chez Faint, thanks in large part to my jam, Fresh Direct.
