Love Bigger, Love Flawless

Last summer I was honored to attend the Flawless Foundation‘s fourth anniversary event which was hosted by Tipper Gore and my friend, the evening’s Special Guest, model Sarah DeAnna.  Founded by the fabulous Janine Francolini, the Flawless Foundation “sees the perfection in every child”, as they advocate for children with brain-based behavioral issues.

A video was produced from the evening’s event (aptly titled: Love Bigger, Judge Less) featuring moms of Flawless children.  There’s are impassioned, inspiring, and moving anecdotes about their children and is worth more than one look.

Poppin popping off!

Who knew office supplies could be so fun and exciting!?  Last night I attended the launch party for the new office supply line, Poppin at the Michelson Studio in the West Village.

Me and Aliza of HL Group.

Poppin is awesome in that its products are fresh, bright, and innovative and add a ray of sunshine to any work space.

Even the drinks were different.  The signature drink, the Blueberry Pop Star, packed a colorful punch, just like the office supplies!

Everyone could use a pop of Poppin during their day!

Fun in the photo booth!

Mikhail at Mimi

Last week I was honored to attend the reception for renowned Russian artist Mikhail Magaril at the Mimi Ferzt Gallery in SoHo.   I felt like the bell of the ball as he’d created the dress that I wore and saw it on me for the first time.  It was as well-received as his sculptures and paintings that were on display.

Ta da!!!

I know you all have been on the edge of your seats for my and Sally’s performance video to be posted and your wait is over!

!!!

Check out my version of Sondre Lerche’s My Hands Are Shaking here, and our duet of Sally’s Split Decisions here.  Do enjoy!

Taking a break from rehearsing. Oh, the nerves.

Lots of love to Sally for indulging me in my crazy request.  Could not have done it without her. xo

Singin’ with Sally

I can’t believe I actually went through with it.  After months of coordinating schedules, I had my performance with singer-songwriter Sally Taylor last night at the Good Life bar in Boston.

We sang three songs (two hers, Split Decisions & Missing Part, and one by Sondre Lerche, My Hands Are Shaking, my solo) and to say I was nervous would be an understatement.  It was more like experiencing a hot fire rise up my back and over my ears while trying to remain calm and ignore the sensation of feeling my heart beat out of my chest.

Trying not to let my nerves show.

Duetin’.

As the progeny of music legends Carly Simon and James Taylor, Sally has a remarkable voice and made me feel very comfortable and put me at ease.

With the beautiful, talented, and wonderfully gracious Sally Taylor.

Video will be posted soon, but for now here are some more snaps.

Funnin’ w the crew at the Bristol Lounge at the Four Seasons post-show.

A chance encounter with Doc Rivers, coach of the Boston Celtics, and friend Lesley Brawn post-show. What a fun twist to the night!

A Flawless Evening

Last night I had the honor of attending the Flawless Foundation‘s annual Perfection Party at the famed New York culinary institution, Le Cirque.  Former second lady Tipper Gore was the honorary chair and my friend, fashion model Sarah DeAnna, was the evening’s special guest.

Ocean’s Eleven, New York style.

It’s not often that art imitates my life, but that’s exactly what happened tonight.  I attended a Cannes Cinema Club event hosted by Stella Artois at Tribeca Cinemas which played homage to the original film version of Ocean’s Eleven. The space was transformed to emulate a Vegas casino nightclub from the 1960′s, complete with “guests” Andy Warhol, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Marilyn Monroe, and Audrey Hepburn. It was awesome.  The Stella flowed freely and it was such fun being transported back in time in present-day Manhattan.

Stella’s iconic chalice.

As I worked on the Ocean’s Eleven remake while working with my former boss, Matt Damon, this event was especially fun for me and conjured up some great memories.

Unleashing an over-the-head Tall T kick on Mr. Pitt back in the day.  Just a little funnin’ on set…

Mr. Pitt deploys his flashlight in an effort to defend himself.

I enjoyed conversations with both “Andy Warhol” and “Audrey Hepburn”, and laughed hysterically after posing with “Dean Martin”, “Sammy Davis, Jr.”, and “Frank Sinatra.”

Oh, “Andy.” What good times we had.

Was wonderful to finally meet “Audrey.” Turns out we both like Tiffany’s!

Loved being part of the “Rat Pack”.

Thanks to Stella and Tribeca for a great night.

Am I really going to do this?

The answer is yes.

For a reason I don’t quite understand, I have decided to mark the entering of my fourth decade by performing a few ditties in public.  Most people are fine with a a normal celebration of some sort, but me…well, I don’t know what in the sam hill is driving this in me.

So I’ve enlisted my friend, singer-songwriter Sally Taylor, God bless her, to help me fulfill my secret public singing desire.

I’ve been firmly nestled into the “me” decade for eight months now and it’s taken about as long for us to sort out the date of May 19th.

Grab a friend and suppress your urge to heckle and stop on by.  Good times await.

May 19, Good Life Bar 28 Kingston Street, Boston, 6:30pm

I think I may wear this outfit.
